CORE Susquehanna is now recruiting for full-time AmeriCorps positions. The full-time positions begin August 25th, 2020 and end on August 6th, 2021. 

Benefits for positions include:

Program Assistant- AmeriCorps Member

Lewisburg YMCA at The Miller Center

This position will work closely with the Sports and Recreation Director and Youth Program Coordinator to provide support in all youth program development and implementation for community members at the center. The Miller Center for Recreation and Wellness, a 501(c)(3) community initiative, is a unique regional collaboration of private enterprise, public recreation, community and regional healthcare, education, community services and research.  The 96,000 sq. ft. facility features: (4) hard courts, synthetic turf field, 1/7 mile indoor track, state-of-the-art high performance training area and fully equipped fitness center, child development space, (5) multi-purpose rooms, healthy choice café and outdoor courtyard.

Volunteer Coordinator- AmeriCorps Member

The Volunteer Coordinator supports Union-Snyder CAA programs by recruiting, scheduling, and managing community volunteers. This position is responsible for helping CAA grow its volunteer network and identify new positions to engage the community and increase agency capacity at both Selinsgrove and Lewisburg
(UCRC) locations. This position will also help coordinate the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program from November through April. Examples of existing CAA volunteer positions include VITA Volunteer, On-Call Front Desk Volunteer, and Volunteer Classroom Assistant.

The Classroom Assistant will provide support to Education & Employment staff to ensure successful delivery of self-sufficiency services for adults living with low income and/or re-entering society post-incarceration. Classroom priorities include but are not limited to computer assistance, job search, resume building, financial literacy, life skills, parenting, HiSET test preparation, and service navigation.
